Governance

Our company operates by standards grounded in our core values. These values form a consistent framework that guides our actions. This creates a competitive advantage for the company, one all employees are responsible for upholding. While ethical standards are an integral part of our culture, additional measures ensure consistency and compliance. Ongoing monitoring, self-assessment and self-correction help make certain that our standards are consistently applied and enforced.

Governance2

Compliance extends beyond our own internal assessments and actions. Governments around the world  have enacted legislation to regulate business conduct. We accept these additional compliance  responsibilities as a normal business requirement, captured by the concept of responsible corporate governance. Legal and regulatory compliance is an essential responsibility shared by each employee.

BRS’s Code of Business Conduct serves as the primary resource for matters related to governance and  compliance. Under all circumstances, the company remains firmly committed to the values and business  ethics that define who we are. To employees, this dedication is a source of pride, honour and  purpose. To all with an interest in BRS success, it is a source of reassurance and trust.

Core Values

It may be an understatement to say that we work every day to uphold our core values. Because integrity, quality, sustainability, commitment, and innovation are not ideals we work towards. We live them. We breathe them. These values are the true essence of how we work and are in every product, service, and opportunity we offer you.
In addition, BRS understands the value of a diverse workforce, customer and supplier base. We are truly dedicated to an inclusive environment where diversity is understood and welcomed. We embrace a culture that is accepting and understanding. And we work to include individuals and companies that fit with that culture. It’s a culture that reflects our global orientation, widens our business opportunities, attracts the best talent, and breathes life into the best teamwork. It’s a commitment we see shared with and within all stakeholders at BRS.

Code of Conduct

Our company has an aggregated professional history upon which we built our success.
We are committed to doing business the right way. That means we act lawfully. It also means that how we conduct ourselves and our global work is more than just a matter of policy and law; it’s a reflection of our core values:
means telling the truth, keeping our word and treating others with fairness and respect. It is demonstrated through honest relationships, decisions that consider the balanced interests of stakeholders, and unquestioned commitment to ethical and legal behaviour. Integrity is one of our most cherished assets. It must not be compromised.
QUALITY
means delivering value to customers, employees, shareholders and others. Quality is exhibited in many ways; by selling and supporting products and services that delight customers, establishing a work environment in which employees thrive, delivering financial results that meet investor expectations, and maintaining sound relationships to the benefit of our stakeholders.
SUSTAINABILITY
means supporting [Brundtland 1987] development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.
COMMITMENT
means doing our best to meet stakeholder expectations in a predictable, consistent way over time. We recognize that our customers, as well as employees and investors, have many options in choosing a company with which to be associated.
Our opportunity to serve should be viewed as a privilege that is not to be taken for granted.
INNOVATION
means inventing, designing and developing breakthrough products and services that have high appeal in the marketplace and strengthen customer preference for our brands.
Innovation extends to using the latest technology and engineering to establish world-class processes and applying the most advanced biorefinery technology, tools and practices throughout the BRS companies.
As a company, these are the values in which we believe. By embracing our core values and putting them to work in our daily lives, we help maintain the confidence and support of our subsidiaries, customers, shareholders, communities and our stakeholders, with whom we work.
Today, we are a company with employees in The Netherlands, Europe, with a potential around the world. When we achieve global growth and aspire to sustain it, we will and must keep sight of our commitment to our core values.

Leadership

The quality of a company is expressed through the quality of its employees and its leadership. BRS employees and leaders are dedicated to the company’s core values of integrity, quality, sustainability, commitment, and innovation.
The men and women now working at BRS have the experience, the expertise, the values, and the will to ensure that BRS is a reliable company for its customers, a steady company for its investors, and a supportive company for its employees.
